Coming back after easter I invested in some camera equipment. A new 50mm prime lens for my canon camera and two sets of LED lights and stands, ready for my trip to America next week. So before hitting the states I wanted to give everything a test run, I also remembered I hadn’t used After Effects for a while and wanted to satisfy my craving, as it turns out I also ended up doing a little bit of 3D work for this sketch as well. Let’s just say this took a while to edit, so my need for special effects is a little more than fufilled for now. Enjoy.

Meeting New People

So It’s been a while since I last Vlogged and I’ve wanted to talk about this topic for a long time, I’ve just never really found a way of saying it. But it’s been a busy year and I’m meeting new people more often and I’m off to America soon and now seemed like the right time.

Just after making this video I attended the Lincoln YouTube gathering and did exactly what I wanted to do, introduce myself and meet some new people and since then have made some awesome new friends. It just goes to show that a little practice really goes a long way, hopefully my fears will calm down and I’ll keep on improving. Charisma Skill: +10 points!

Design Module – Publication

I’m currently studying a Visual Design module on my course at University, and one of our assesments is to produce an 8 page publication based on topics we’ve researched. My chosen topic was Ska Music and Culture, so I’ve decided to created a fictional “Ska Music Magazine” find the first two pages below.

Goals for 2012

So it’s another year passed, which means it’s worth setting some goals for myself otherwise I’ll never get anything done. So here’s a list of things I’d like to achieve this year in a bit more detail.

PROJECT GOALS:
At least one video a month for GSProductions – We’ve managed to shoot a lot during 2011, but it’s always good to set a production goal and I’d like to work towards more frequent content/

Including a big project for GSProductions. – “Excluded”, “One Round” for two years we’ve had at least one big project a year and so yet again I’d like to have another large-scale production go ahead.

More behind the scenes and tutorial content for The Gambell Guide – Self explanatory, but it’s always helpful to me to know how certain things are done.

Produce some professional work – Obviously it’d nice getting paid to do what I do. So I’m going to work on getting some Client work added to the list of side-projects.

PERSONAL GOALS:
Attend a Gathering – I’ve been on YouTube for over 2 years and still yet to go to any form of a gathering and meet people. SO THIS YEAR. THIS WILL HAPPEN.

See my Dad get married – My dad is getting married in April and it’s happening abroad and I’m invited!

Go to California over summer – I’ve been asked by my friends from Suburban Legends to go stay with them in Orange County for a month and hopefully can shoot some video for that!
Pass the first year of University / Get into the second year of University – Pretty important this one… I’d like to pass my degree.
Get fitter / become healthier – Every year for this one, but hopefully this year!
